I fav'd this cos its wild and it made me laugh.....but actually now I'm having 2nd thoughts and have unfav'd it - sorry! - because these kind of images are sacred and I cant support the gratuitous messing with something that is spiritually so powerful for so many people. I'm assuming you dont have a Vedic background......if you had it would be different.

I very much like your iconoclastic spirit, and the boldness of your work, but I honestly think you have a level of youthful impetuosity that could cause you to produce work you might later prefer that you hadn't. Especially in a time when the west's derision and lack of undersanding of the east is at it's most devastating in history.

PS: I appreciate that your spirit was probably sympathic and the point youre expressing is very valid and worthwhile, I am just concerned that messing with other people's religious symbols is generally inadvisable, better to mess with one's own I think.

But that is exactly the point of the painting! It shows the western worlds influence on the east, leaving sacred rituals to be simple myths. I have studied(not extensively) the goddess rituals of Hinduism and have found them to be powerfull messages, but then you look at the real life situations in India, and all of the peacefull messages seem to go out the window. I wish most people lived by their religious traditions.
